PERFORMANCE IN THE CLASSROOM:
Bringing Learning to Life

This workshop offers participants the rich, dramatic heritage of storytelling, ritual, and performance as tools for bringing literature and learning to life in today's classroom.  Behind every great lesson in educational curriculum is a  story with fascinating characters.  Every discovery, invention, and human advancement started with a dream, an idea, or perhaps a happy accident for someone whose story is at the heart of learning.  Exercises, activities, and projects for classroom application are presented in this highly experiential workshop. This session is particularly applicable to teachers of English, reading, social studies, science, foreign language, and the fine arts in all levels of elementary and secondary education.
